A practical gift coordination guide
Help avoid duplicate gifts
A shared wishlist is most useful when buyers keep its purchase status up to date. Here is a simple workflow for the person making the list and the people choosing gifts.
How it works
Owner: make the list clear
Add specific product details, review your list and finalize it when ready. Choose the sharing setting, then send the link to the intended people. Friends Only and Selected Friends require an authorised signed-in viewer.
Buyer: check before shopping
Open the wishlist and check whether someone has already marked the item Purchased. Follow the store link and arrange the purchase at the retailer. Wishcraft does not process that order.
Buyer: update Wishcraft promptly
Once you decide to record a purchase, use Mark Purchased. A store checkout does not automatically tell Wishcraft. If plans change, return to the item you marked and undo the purchase status.
Recipient: record receipt separately
When the gift arrives, mark it Received on your own wishlist if you want a record. The buyer’s private Gift History is separate from your Received history.
Questions worth answering
Does this guarantee no duplicates?
No. Someone might shop without checking the list, delay updating it, or buy at the same time as another person. The status helps people coordinate; it cannot guarantee what happens outside Wishcraft.
Is opening a store link a reservation?
No. Opening a product link is not checkout or proof of purchase. Review any purchase prompt and make sure the item’s status reflects what you intended.
Can we contribute to a bigger gift?
Premium group gifting helps coordinate contributions and payment status. Payments are arranged outside Wishcraft.
